Become a 2023 First Responder Team

Become a First Responder Team

And bring your colleagues together to raise funds and awareness for Veterans & First Responders living with OSI.

Join gyms & services from across Canada in hosting this year’s 24 Hours of Heroes event!

This virtual + in-person hybrid event connects Fitness, Veteran and First Responder communities from across the country together to sweat, honour the fallen, and raise money for the important mental health services provided to our Veterans, First Responders and their families via Wounded Warriors Canada.

Last year, we raised OVER $80,000 thanks to each and every person who joined or donated to this event - and we know that $100,000 is possible.

Here is the event schedule:

  • Saturday, November 4 = 4 Hero workouts (10:00am, 11:15am, 12:30pm, 1:45pm EST)

  • Sunday, November 5 = 4 Hero workouts (10:00am, 11:15am, 12:30pm, 1:45pm EST)

  • Workouts will be announced in August

As a first responder team, you would:

  • Invite members of your service to join in on one, a few, or all of the hero workouts at any point during the 24 Hours of Heroes weekend. We know shift work is challenging to schedule around, so grab a buddy to tackle a hero workout while on break or after shift - whatever works for you!

  • When someone completes a workout, encourage them to make a donation (easily accessible through the provided QR code posters) to your service’s team*

*Note: The top first responder team will receive special sponsorship prizes as a huge thank you for the support!

  • Honour fallen service women and men through their hero workouts, and by reading their bios (provided by the 24 Hours of Heroes team)

  • Come together as a fitness community to sweat, have some fun, and support Wounded Warriors Canada.

Steps to participate:

  1. Reach out to our Director, Isabelle Hicks, to express your interest and collect a few initial details.

  2. Isabelle will reach out with updates and confirm when you are set up on our registration & fundraising platform, Race Roster. This platform allows our team to track all participants and donations, and all relevant information will be shared with you as a facilitator.

  3. Once we go live on September 1st, invite your members to begin fundraising. We are inviting service teams to raise a minimum of $500, but you are encouraged to raise as much as possible - both for our great cause and for the chance to win amazing prizing!

  4. Be on the lookout for your service team’s QR code posters and display them around your facility.

  5. Encourage all of your colleagues to tackle a hero workout or two (or all 8!) during the weekend of November 4th & 5th!

If this sounds like something of interest, email isabelle@24hoursofheroes.com for more details and to get started!
