Meet our Ambassador, Paul!
24 Hours of Heroes is excited to welcome Paul Sheppard as one of our new Ambassadors! So you can get to know him a bit better, we asked Paul to tell us about his fitness journey, what our cause means to him, and some fun facts!
Fitness:
Fitness has been a part of Paul’s life for as long as he can remember. Growing up playing hockey and baseball, he quickly discovered how much he loved being part of a team and a strong community. In his early 20s, Paul got into the gym scene to challenge himself both mentally and physically - but eventually, the spark started to fade. That all changed when he walked into a CrossFit gym almost four years ago, and he immediately fell in love with the energy, people, and the sense of purpose it brought back to his fitness journey. Not long after, Paul became a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer! Now, helping others find that same motivation and confidence is one of his biggest passions.
Our Cause:
24 Hours of Heroes is a cause especially close to Paul’s heart. As a First Responder himself, Paul understands how important mental health support is both in and outside the gym. Many members of his gym are also First Responders (or have loved ones who are), and Paul’s mission is to make sure no one in that community ever feels alone.
Fun Facts:
Paul is a huge animal lover - he has 2 rescue pups who run the house (and the backyard fetch schedule).
Paul’s favourite movie is Pixar’s Cars… and he’s pretty sure he’s watched it more times than anyone else on the planet.
