Meet our Ambassador, Marta!

24 Hours of Heroes is excited to welcome Marta Wajda as one of our new Ambassadors! So you can get to know her a bit better, we asked Marta to tell us about her fitness journey, what our cause means to her, and some fun facts!

Fitness:

Marta began her fitness journey after graduating university, since when she has spent over 10 years growing in various styles of training (i.e. bodybuilding, powerlifting). She was first introduced to CrossFit in 2014, and regularly began training in 2017 as she loves the community and additional growth. In 2018, she developed a passion for helping others as she began to coach CrossFit. In addition, Marta has just begun her new career in law enforcement, which has placed extra importance on her fitness and pursuing new goals.

Our Cause:

Marta has built relationships with many first responders through being a part of the CrossFit community, which has made her realize that these individuals experience many struggles that are not always well understood or supported. Marta hopes to show her appreciation and support for those affected by occupational difficulties by partaking in 24 Hours of Heroes and gathering the community to raise awareness… After all, first responders are the members of our community who keep us safe, and we all need to help one another during times of need.

Fun Facts:

  • Marta recently passed her CrossFit Level 3 exam on July 29th, 2022, a credential which is held by less than 100 people in Canada!

  • Marta loves vacationing with friends and family… especially those who don’t mind bringing equipment to hit a fun WOD! Her favourite time to complete a 24 Hours of Heroes WOD is with the community :)
